SpellForce III Reforced is an innovative combination of an epic role-playing game storyline and approachable real-time strategy elements. Its purpose is to provide both longtime fans of the series and newcomers with a compelling console gaming experience.
It is the year 518 at this point. The Crown was successful in putting down the insurrection of the renegade mages, also known as the Mage Wars. However, it was a victory that was ultimately meaningless because entire regions are now in a state of anarchy, refugees are wandering the lands in search of a safe haven, and a mysterious and lethal disease known as the “Bloodburn” has emerged and is rapidly spreading.
In times such as these, people will grasp at any glimmer of hope they can get their hands on. Rondar Lacaine, the charismatic leader of the Purity of Light, asserts that mages are the cause of all misfortune in Eo, and that only the second coming of Aonir, the father of all gods, will restore Eo to its former splendour. The Purity of Light is led by the Purity of Light.
The events of this tale take place prior to the critically acclaimed SpellForce: The Order of Dawn.
