VR Karts doesn’t strive for hyper-realism. Instead, it embraces a vibrant, almost Mario Kart-esque aesthetic. Tracks are filled with colorful obstacles, cheeky shortcuts, and power-ups that can turn the tide of any race in an instant.
The core gameplay loop is simple yet addictive. You steer your kart using the PlayStation Move controllers, leaning into corners to navigate the winding tracks. The sense of speed is palpable, and the immersion is heightened by the ability to look around and truly appreciate the 3D environment.
While VR Karts is undeniably fun, it’s not without its minor drawbacks. The motion controls, while generally responsive, can sometimes feel a bit imprecise, leading to occasional frustrations. The game also suffers from some minor graphical glitches and occasional frame rate dips, though these rarely detract from the overall experience.
